Club To Club Istanbul 2014
Torino-based Club To Club visits İstanbul for the fifth consecutive year between 18 and 19 April 2014 with a hotter than ever schedule. The fifth edition of the festival (“C2CISTONIGHT”) offers an extended program with club nights at Babylon, Salon IKSV, Peyote, Pixie, Klub Karaoke and Kiki Sıraselviler as well as five new spots like book store Robinson Crusoe Kitabevi, two record shops KontraPlak and Analog Kültür, art gallery Salt Beyoglu and Urban Café (headquarters and info point) that are all located around Istanbul’s much-frequented Istiklal Street.
Starting shot is on Friday, 18 April 2014 with a performance of Brooklyn-based Daniel Lopatin’s project “Oneohtrix Point Never” following a DJ Set of Berlin-based Italian Luca Mortellaro a.k.a. Lucy playing the signature sound of his label Stroboscopic Artefacts at Salon IKSV. The program of the second day (Saturday, 19 April 2014) strikes full-force with mini concerts, autograph sessions, DJ sets, acoustic performances, conversations and many more allowing for an individual combination of clubbing, education and exchange of knowledge.
My personal recommendation for the second day is to start first with discovering lovely book store Robinson Crusoe, listening to MiniMüzikhol’s DJ Baris K (Aboov Plak), Ozan Maral (Deform Müzik), Ali Gültekin and Ismail Genc (both Sublime Porte) panel about running an independent label and pressing vinyl, then actually buying vinyl and celebrating the World Record Day at KontraPlak and finally congratulating Kaan Düzarat to the birth of its new gem Analog Kültür. All club nights offer high-quality bookings as Mouse on Mars at Babylon, Rush Hour’s finest Tom Trago at Klub Karaoke, Deniz Kurtel at Salon IKSV, Red Bull Music Academy Stage at Peyote and Casper Clausen (Efterklang’s singer) at Kiki and many more.
As you can see “C2CISTONIGHT” provides enough opportunities to sweat. I will be at Klub Karaoke since Rush Hour is one of my favorite record labels.
