Munk playing Sundaze Istanbul

What do have DFA’s James Murphy and Mathias Modica in common? One answer could be their passion for weird disco, experimental pop combined with their ability to transform these elements into futuristic house and slow techno.

Based in Berlin, Italo-German Munk topped already club charts with hits like “Mis Labios” oder “La Musica” that have been smashed out by artists like Shit Robot, Erol Alkan, Annie Mac, Tim Sweeney, Luciano or Ellen Alien. The UK music magazine The NME calls his own imprint GOMMA Records as Europe’s counterpart to the U.S.’ DFA with “Germany’s freshest and most innovative electronic music label”.

Pachanga Boys’ Rebelledo, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, Kill The DJ’s Chloé and many more collaborated with GOMMA’s head honcho because of his ability to write beautiful melodies with unusual harmonies. Munk’s new album “Chansom 3000” will be released on GOMMA Records in October 2014.

Do you like Todd Terje, Gerd Janson, Prosumer or DJ Harvey? If you answer this with yes, then don’t miss Munk playing Sundaze Istanbul on 27 July 2014.
